Your view of the U.S. in futbol is just a bit outdated. They have recognized that they are not a world power and have tried to take steps to change that. Presently ranked between #4 and #7 in the world (depending on whose poll you're counting), they are the first to admit they're not there yet, but are trying - this world cup experience not with standing.
from the interviews i've seen, the U.S. players are still a bit too cocky for my liking. i know we're working on it but a little HUMILITY or a HUMBLE attitude wouldn't kill them. in my opinion, they're NOT the first to admit they're not there yet. they still rant and rave about why they didn't win, how come they're not first, yadda yadda yadda.
i guess what i'm saying is that in the meantime, we have got to learn how to be good losers in this country. in EVERY sport.
